After more than a year of writing and editing, we’re excited to announce that our book, Marketing Multiplied: A real-world guide to Channel Marketing for beginners, practitioners, and executives, will be available in early 2018.
At Averetek, we believe in a marketing approach centered on teaching. We try to share what we know with our clients, prospects, and partners every day. We do this through conversations, emails, blog articles, and eBooks. But all that teaching content comes in small parts. No single piece of content laid out a complete framework for how best to deliver channel marketing, not one that we had created, and nothing from other sources.
We searched Amazon to see what books already exist on the topic of channel marketing and there were none. Knowing that no one goes to school for channel marketing (and we have yet to find a college course that contains this subject) and seeing how hard channel professionals work to figure out how to be successful, we saw an opportunity.
Why not us?
Peter and I both had writing a book on our bucket lists. When we kicked around the idea of writing a channel marketing book together, we felt that we had a lot of useful ideas - things we’ve learned over the course of our careers - that would be helpful to channel professionals. Our combined experience of more than forty years working with and for brands and their channel partners informed a point of view that we felt was worth sharing with others.
It turns out that writing a book is hard! We found ourselves discussing, writing, editing and re-writing a lot. Many times we wondered aloud is this helpful? and doesn't everyone know this already?. Writing it down induced doubt in ideas that we would typically speak aloud with confidence. After all, it's a permanent record.
In the end, we feel we’ve struck the right balance of laying out a guide to channel marketing that will be useful to people new to the profession, already working in the field, or connected to channel marketing through another discipline.
Writing together made the task easier, of course. With full-time jobs, families, coaching, volunteer work, and everything else that fills our lives, we likely could not have completed this book any other way.
