Put together The Big Box of Awesome, a ridiculous prize package comprised of a 4K television, a gaming console, headphones, games, and DVDs and create ways for people to earn chances to win the ultimate incentive. For a couple thousand dollars in prizes, you can motivate people to participate in learning activities, create marketing campaigns, and generate sales opportunities from leads.

Originally run as a consumer promotion, we ran this incentive with several channel partners at Microsoft. The incentive captured interest because of how over the top the package was and because it was easy to earn chances to win.

  • Attend training.
  • Send some emails.
  • Make some phone calls.
  • Issue price quotes.
  • Close deals.

All of the things the partners normally did, but we were able to focus the participants on a specific product set for the promotion rather than having them work on everything under the sun. It paid off. Awareness grew and pipeline and sales did too.
